Santa Rita Lodge is located in Madera Canyon, part of the Coronado National Forest. Only 13 miles southeast of Green Valley, Arizona; the lodge is a comfortable yet rustic hotel near Tucson. It is a wonderful historical lodging destination for over 80 years.

We accommodate guests in four cabins and eight efficiency apartments or "casitas". The lodge has been in existence since the 1930's. The cabins and casitas have been recently renovated. The lodge is located beside Madera Canyon Creek which usually flows from monsoon season in July through March.

Madera Canyon is a rich, protected habitat that provides an ideal breeding ground for about 130 species of birds. Birders from all over the world come here to view rare species such as Elegant Trogon, Painted Redstart, Broad-billed and Magnificent Hummingbirds, Elf and Whiskered Screech Owls. Feeders are abundant on the lodge grounds to attract a wide variety of birds.

At an elevation of 5,000 feet, the lodge is about 10 degrees cooler than Tucson.

Madera Canyon is also known for ideal hiking with well-maintained trails ranging from easy to a challenging all day trek to Mount Baldy (10,000 feet). Madera Canyon is also a haven for insect enthusiasts that come to see many different varieties of butterflies to moths to beetles.

We invite you to stop by our gift shop to browse our selection of books, t-shirts, hats, hummingbird feeders and a variety of Madera Canyon souvenirs. We also offer cool refreshments and snacks. Come by for a tour of our cabins and casitas. If you are looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful natural setting, this place is for you.
