There are no cabins or casitas available this month (April). A few single night vacancies are available in the casitas in early May.
After the 19th of May, we have a few cabins and many casitas available. Weekends are the most popular and are reserved early. Occasionally, we have cancellations, so do not hesitate to call for information.
Reminder - We do not allow dogs in March, April or May.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are your office hours?
The office/gift shop is open 9:30 AM - 4 PM. We are closed most Mondays.
What do I do if I am checking in after the office is closed?
Let the office know if you will be checking in late so that we can make arrangements for you to get your keys. There is a maintenance manager on the property who resides next to the office. Keys for registered guests can be obtained from him unless other arrangements have been made.
Is it possible to rent a room without a reservation?
If you come to office during office hours and there is availability, we will rent you a casita or cabin. We cannot rent to walk-ins after closing.
Do you allow dogs?
We allow dogs from June through February. There is a $25.00 charge per dog per day. Dogs weighing over 20 lbs. must stay in the cabins. The dog must be on a leash at all times, cannot be left alone in the room (or cabin), and cannot be a barker. Any damage done to lodge property by the dog is the pet owner's responsibility.
If you bring a dog without telling the lodge in advance, your reservation will not be honored.
The owners of the lodge reserve the right to remove any guest who does not obey these restrictions or whose dog creates a nuisance.
Is there a restaurant in the canyon?
There is no food service in Madera Canyon. Bring your own food. Grocery stores and restaurants are in Green Valley, 13 miles away. Every room has a kitchenette. See the accommodations page for a list of what is in the kitchens.
Can I have guests visit me at the lodge?
NO. The lodge is for our lodgers only.
If you are meeting friends, you may use one of the many picnic areas in the canyon.
We do not allow loud partying or music played outside.
Can we build a campfire?
Not on lodge property. Grilling is permitted with charcoal only, no wood.
Are there fireplaces in the rooms?
No.
Do you offer any discounts?
Rent is discounted 10% for stays of one week and 15% for two weeks. Discounts for stays over 2 weeks are negotiable.
Do you sell gift certificates?
Yes. They make great gifts.
What facilities do you offer children?
Madera Canyon is part of a national forest. It is not a park. There are no areas specifically designated for youngsters. Because of the rough terrain and natural hazards, children must be supervised at all times.
